Canada has some of the world’s most advanced smart grid technology companies.  Canadian and US energy leaders will come together in Boston for a three-day long conference hosted by The New England-Canada Business Council.  The conference aims to bring New England-based utilities and technologies together with the Canadian leaders in clean-tech and smart grid technologies.   Two of the conference events will be open to the public.

PANEL 1:             Transforming the Grid with Technology

What makes the electric grid “smart”? New technologies add intelligence into the transmission, distribution, and metering infrastructure. But “smart” also covers the technologies that tie-in home area networks, energy monitoring for businesses, and creates greater knowledge about the way energy is moved from the sources of generation to the end demand. This annual US-Canada energy discussion, put on by Canadian Consul to New England and MIT Enterprise Forum Energy Special Interest Group (Energy SIG), will feature a panel discussion on the development of smart grid technologies, identify technology gaps, and outline where opportunity and growth can be found.
