These people at the Calif Energy Commission have no new ideas or what is good for the Ciyizens of this state. Just think what is the future value of $6,000.00 @ 7.5% (our Pers investment number for State Pensions) and can we compare these numbers with the 30 year payout. Comeon folks do a little math then ask your parents if this is a good investment

Just another way for government to dictate the way we use and improve property. No incentive here, just a vague possibility of saving energy over some long term. Payback in 10 years. Most folks won't even stay that long in a new home. If we want to increase the efficiency of buildings, and I'm all for that, then let's make this an economic decision not a punitive legislative one made by folks that really don't know what they are doing. Keep government out of direct regulation beyond life safety.
