Carlsbad, CA - February 24, 2010 - Realcomm announced today a collaboration with CB Richard Ellis in the upcoming launch of their new 2010 seminar series, "Energy and Sustainability: Smart Building to Smart Grid." The program marks the first time Realcomm's seminar division has collaborated with a Fortune 500 company to produce educational content, and paves the way for a seminar series that encompasses the needs and perspectives of both real estate owners/operators and technology solutions providers.

"We are pleased to play an active role in this series of seminars designed to bring real world solutions directly to the buildings and people that can make the most difference in improving energy efficiency."  said David Pogue, National Director of Sustainability at CB Richard Ellis.

Despite the fact that the built environment accounts for more than 40% of our energy consumption, building owners and operators have not fully embraced the potential mitigation options available to them. The Energy and Sustainability seminars will address such topics as how to build an effective energy team, the relationship between a smart building and a smart grid, energy efficiency and demand response, trends in innovation and much more.

"As the world of information technology continues to integrate more with "clean technology", we are poised for a major shift in the way buildings are operated and subsequently how they manage energy. The future will involve a much more complex set of technology, systems and processes in buildings, which will require a new set of skills within the commercial and corporate real estate industry. We are pleased to work with CB Richard Ellis, a recognized global leader on energy and sustainability, to bring a relevant and cutting edge seminar to the market." said Jim Young, President at Realcomm.

The Realcomm Energy and Sustainability Seminar is a comprehensive 4-hour program that will be offered in eight major U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Washington DC, Houston, New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Seattle. CB Richard Ellis will participate with Realcomm as an integral speaker and will present new, innovative solutions and case studies for sustainable intelligent buildings as well as methods for establishing ROI on these new solutions.  This seminar is a "must-attend" for real estate owners, operators, developers, property managers, IT directors, architects, chief engineers, energy directors, facility managers, system integrators and consultants.
